HARARE – ZIMBABWE and Nigeria have joined hands and will make films together, Radio VOP can reveal
his was said by Karikoga Kaseke, the CEO of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) on Monday at a lavish function he hosted for Nigerians in the country.
Kaseke said it costs about USd 1 million to make a film in Nigeria and their industry was the best in Africa and thus Zimbabwe would learn from them.
The film stars were in the country to attend the Sanganani event held in Bulawayo last week. The Nigerian delegation included several stars from that country and they said they had enjoyed their stay in Zimbabwe.
Kaseke said some film makers would soon be leaving for Nigeria to get first hand lessons from them on the industry.
He bemoaned the low attendance of the Bulawayo event saying this did not do the country any good.
The country’s film industry is struggling and film makers have no money to produce good quality products. Most items are also sourced from abroad and paid for in foreign currency which is in short supply in Zimbabwe.
