Wedson Nyirenda, the Coach of Zambian National Team, has made it known that his players are really improving greatly and getting used to his methods ahead of 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
It would be recalled that earlier this month,Nyirenda was appointed as the head coach. He took his first training session with the team, Chipolopolo on Monday.
In his words, “I think they are doing fine. They are getting into shape, but as usual when you are a new coach in a team, some players may be skeptical, but I think things are shaping up and they are doing a good job,” Nyirenda told Lusakatimes.com.
“We are trying to give everyone a chance to showcase their talent, and like I said earlier, we are doing two phases at one time; that is to prepare the team for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, while we are also rebuilding the team.
“We need to formulate and work hard to build a team that will stand the test of time.”
The players are expected to regroup on Sunday after they return from playing for their respective clubs. Also nine foreign -based players will join them too in the camp.
