Yomi Fabiyi protest at Mohbad’s inquest

Movie star Yomi Fabiyi is demanding justice for late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad through a peaceful protest he led at the Coroner Inquest Court in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The protesters, on Wednesday, stormed the Ikorodu Magistrate Court dressed in black T-shirts.

Fabiyi had earlier called for a peaceful protest to seek justice for the late singer even as the family of the deceased disassociated itself from the demonstration.

Recall that the inquest, which began on September 29, 2023, aims to uncover the true cause of Mohbad’s death, following his sudden and mysterious passing on September 12, 2023.

He was buried the following day, but on September 21, his body was exhumed for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The autopsy report found no significant evidence to explain Mohbad’s death, though it detected traces of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, but not in fatal concentrations.

Unsatisfied with the findings, Mohbad’s family rejected the results and called for an independent investigation.

Monisola Odumosu, a member of the Aloba legal team, revealed that a two-part autopsy is currently in progress. The first phase has been completed, with toxicology and histology tests forming the second phase.

Singer Naira Marley and Sam Larry, both considered key witnesses, were absent from the court despite being summoned.
