After winning the ticket to contest for a seat at the Lagos State House of Assembly under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Desmond Elliot is preparing for the main elections which would be held in few weeks time.
The actor cum producer has kicked off an intense campaign for himself and that of his political party.
The married father of four was spotted recently during one of the campaigns with bottles of Champagne as he mounts the roof top of the vehicle.
To show off as a celebrity, the TV star, pops the champagne and let it waste on their supporters who were flocking around the campaign vehicles chanting solidarity songs.
While some politicians are busy distributing some food stuffs, wad of money, biscuits, sweets and what have you to get the nods and votes of the citizens, Desmond has also joined them but making the matters worse, he’s showing off how wasteful he could be with the way he’s handling the expensive bottles of Champagne.
His latest move has raised eyebrows as his critics who have always been looking for a loophole to hit at him have been lambasting him for his extravagance.
Interestingly, it could be recalled that Desmond Elliot is one of the few entertainers that won their parties’ primary ticket ahead of the 2015 elections. Over 10 entertainers including, Tony Tetuila, 9ice, Kenny Saint Best and a host of others signified interest for a political position but lost out in their respective parties’ primary elections.
