Celebrities have always been expected to give back to the society they took a lot from and some Nigerian stars have been waking up to that responsibility.
Awarding radio presenter with Wazzobia FM, Lagos, Steven Onu aka Yaw, in a bid to raise money for the less privileged, sold his car in the ‘OLX Give Back’ campaign and donated the proceeds from the sale to Down Syndrome Foundation and Bethesda Home for the Blind in Lagos.
Yaw explained that he took such step because he feels for the less privileged, which was why he celebrated with them on his birthday.
It was gathered that Yaw sold his car for about N500,000 and was doubled by OLX representatives.
In his words, “If I had put up my phones or some other gadgets, I probably would not have raised such an amount of money, so I sold my car and donated it to the home, this is something that brings happiness to me and am always happy to associate with the less privileges.”
