Last night, the organisers of the Black Entertainment TV (BET) awards announced nominees at a press conference in the US.

Nigeria artistes, Wizkid and Iceprince lead the pack in their Best International Artiste category, which had one artistes each from Ghana, Mali, Kenya and South Africa.

The two Nigerians nominated in that category, Wizkid and Iceprince have reacted to their nominations.

A joyous Wizkid stated, “big shoutout to my fans, my family, my team, EME/Konvict and my manager. We [are] making it happen. God bless you all!

But for Iceprince, he could not hide his over excitement on his recognition bt BET, which 2Face and D’Banj have won in the past editions.

The Jos bred Choc City/Loopy Records artiste marvelled, “Wow! Big shoutout and congratz to my whole management team and label!! Chocolate City, CBN, Loopy.”

His appreciated went further with, “shout out to Nigerian DJs, we [are] getting there.

“Shout out to the whole BET Team! Thanks for recognising the African Music scene and giving it a platform. Shout out to all the blogs, media houses, music stores, promoters, DJs, everybody!

But in another sober reflection on the joy of being nominated for one of most prestigious awards for the black race, Iceprince soberly wrote, “this excitement is real!

“Sad there is a limit to how much noise i can make in a transit hotel! I wish they were both alive to hear this news! But God knows best [than] I know.

In a show of love to other nominees in his category, Iceprince stated, “big congrats to the other nominees especially the once in the same category [with me]! We all [have to] see each other grow.

The BET award is an award that recognises entertainers with black origin. It is expected to hold on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Los Angeles.

Both artistes already have an album each.
