Dbanj who lost son yesterday in a pool accident which many have labelled based on parental negligence and carelessness

Following the incident, Lawyers on social media believe the Nigerian state could have a case against Dbanj and wife over the seemingly careless manner his child passed on.

Child abuse or negligence may be charged as either a felony or a less serious offence, depending on the circumstances, it could carry felony lifetime sentences or could result In no prison time.

For sentencing purposes, a person charged with child abuse may enter a plea of guilty, not guilty or no contest.

In most cases, sentencing can include probation or a prison term up to five years.
