We need to compose more inspirational songs -Juju musician Boyebest

Juju gospel musician, Adeyinka Adeboye popularly known as Boyebest has talked about the changes he would like to see in the juju gospel genre in Nigeria, and what he wants is for the juju gospel artists should church out more inspirational gospel songs.

He also wants a spirit of unity among the juju musicians, as he preaches one love.

“We should make sure we have more meaningful songs, composing inspirational juju music and we should always preach one love,” he said.

He also advised his colleagues in the music industry to remain focused and never lose hope, as there is a silver lining on the horizon if they persist and persevere.

Boyebest raised some curiosity as he said it is not compulsory to be born again before being a gospel artiste, and it is not only when you start singing in the church either.

He argued some secular artists sing gospel songs in some of their albums.

He said, “I believe it’s not compulsory to be born again before being a juju artiste, so many gospel artistes become born again while singing gospel music.

“Moreover, I believe it’s not until you start singing in church that people will tag you to be a gospel artiste, no. Even some hip-hop, fuji, and juju artists are gospel artists, one way or the other their music touches so many souls that listen to them, and when people listen to your music and find happiness then you already save a soul from depression.”

Responding to the question of where he hopes to be in the next 10 years, he has an interesting response.

“The truth is I see myself doing better than now, making more waves locally and internationally. Many and more of this would be done by the grace of God Almighty.”
