Wasiu Ayinde’s Band Members Suffer Slavery – Former Talking Drummer
Kunle Ayanlowo, a former talking drummer working with legendary Fuji icon, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam1, has accused the musician of treating his band members as slaves.
In a now-viral three minutes video, Ayanlowo, who worked with the Fuji musician for 32 years, said all his efforts were futile because he did not achieve anything throughout the over three decades of dedicated service to Kwam1.
The talking drummer also alleged that Wasiu Ayinde failed to give him three of his international passports in the musician’s possession when he decided to quit his job.
Ayanlowo said, “When you get to Murtala Muhammed Airport, your international passport will be taken from you. But I believe the constitution of Nigeria states that every individual should be in possession of their travelling passport.
“Wasiu Ayinde is holding onto three of my international passports as I speak now. If you leave the band, he won’t release your passport to you.”
He described Wasiu Ayinde as a cruel superior, who stops at nothing to victimise his subordinate despite masquerading as a good man on stage or while engaging them in the open.
Additionally, Ayanlowo noted that he is not scared of any human being or death, but he warned that, “In 20 years to come, if I suffer headache, I will hold Wasiu Ayinde responsible”.
Recounting his encounter with the Fuji musician when he was knocked down by ulcer, the former band member said, “He met us on our way to the hospital and he stopped the car that was conveying me and asked what was wrong. I explained to him that I was sick and needed treatment, he ordered me to alight from the vehicle and go home. Till date, I’ve not recovered from the ulcer.”
He swore with his talking drum, stating that it is a potent way to show truth.
Some netizens have, however, started reacting to Ayanlowo’s claims.
While some bashed the former band member for allegedly lying against the Fuji musician, others confirmed the news, stating that it is not hidden that Kwam1 maltreats his band members and staff.
