The ex-federal Legislator and governorship aspirant in Benue State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Joseph Waku has called on the appropriate body to investigate the erstwhile President Olusegun Obasanjo over alleged corrupt practices that were carried out under his watch.
He added that it was necessary because most corruption cases the country is experiencing now began when he took over power between 1999 and 2003.
According to him: “President Muhammadu Buhari should have started probe from Obasanjo. I insist that Obasanjo should be probed. The entire corruption and privatisation saga we are witnessing today started during his administration.”
Waku stated that the privatisation of major public outfits by Obasanjo at the detriment of the poor masses was a way f encouraging corruption.
He implored President Mohammadu Buhari to retract the sales of federal government assets sold to individuals and their cronies.
He disagreed with the call by the ex-vice President, Atiku Abubakar for Nigeria to be restructured.
