Omotunde who is the vice president of national union of road transport workers, (NURTW) is battling with his life at the general hospital shomolu, after been stabbed.
Two of his colleagues were allegedly behind the attack and the duo, Ayodele Muyiwa and James Friday are currently cooling off at the shomolu police station were they have been detained.
This attack was allegedly carried due to eth fact that the victim and one of the suspect, Ayodele Muyiwa have being having issues about a mutual interest in a lady.
The vice president of NURTW had allegedly snatched the girlfriend of one of his attacker, which angered the attack to take place.
On how the attack happened, the suspect had allegedly engaged the victim in a quarrel accusing him of stealing his woman because he is rich, soon after, exchange of words ensued and the suspect got a friend to beat the victim and stabbed him in the stomach and left him.
Meanwhile, police revealed that the main suspect, Mr Muyiwa had earlier been arrested for being in possession of a gun during the union’s election. He was reportedly taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, but was later released. Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the incident saying that investigation had commenced.
