The Police in Uganda have obstructed gay pride celebrations scheduled to take place in two resorts outside capital, Kampala.
According to a Gay rights activist Frank Mugisha said that the police stopped more than 100LGBTI people who were ready to participate in the celebrations in Entebbe near Lake Victoria.
The minister for ethics and integrity in the country had made it known that homosexuality is illegal in Uganda; he therefore threatened to mobilise mobs to attack those who will participate in the event.
The LGBTI tried to move to another resort location but they were also refused entrance.
This appears to be the second time the LGBTI [lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and/or intersex] community has tried to hold gay pride celebrations in Uganda this year.
