It’s been awards galore for immensely gifted female film producer, Vivian Ejike, since picking a diadem at AMAA, early this year.
Silent Scandal, the spell binding flick that opened the floodgate of honours for the pretty filmmaker from Anambra State, continued with the winning spree at the recently held The Audio Visual Awards (TAVA).
The big budget movie, starring Genevieve Nnaji, in the lead role carted home four awards at the memorable night. Under the best feature film genre, Silent Scandal walked away with trophies in the most outstanding producer, director, editor and director of photography categories, respectively.
When The Heart Lies, another sterling work from Ejike’s led Purple Pine Productions, equally smiled home with four plaques in the music sound track categories. It was adjudged the best hip-hop video, best edited musical video, best sound track and best music video, same memorable night.
In a chat with us, elated Ejike, further disclosed that Silent Scandal, has been nominated for best actress and best movie, at the forthcoming Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA), US. “Sincerely, the success recorded with Silent Scandals since its release has been overwhelming. Even at the recently held City People awards, we got two nominations for our humble efforts. It’s a sign that when you do quality movies the world will definitely appreciate and honour you.
We spent so much money and time lensing this movie and now the result is out for all to see and applaud. At Purple Pine Productions, we shall keep doing our best by producing only quality and standard movies,” maintained the French graduate of the University of Port Harcourt.
Speaking further, the former top banker and meticulous producer disclosed that plans are already on for the world premiere of her latest movie, A Private Storm, in the next couple of weeks. The triangular premiere is expected to hold in Nigeria, US and UK, respectively at posh venues.
“You know our premieres are usually world class and breathtaking, we are already planning and strategizing on how to make the outing, the very best this year. Immediately after the premiere, we would begin nationwide showings at major cinemas. A lot has been said and written about Silent Scandals, but, A Private Storm, will definitely redefine movie making in Nollywood”, added the boss of Nollywood Distributions Limited.
