Toke Makinwa: News of the abduction of over a 100 Dapchi school girls in Yobe state is not a strange story in the ears of many Nigerians anymore.
Out of all the girls captured, five are reported to be dead, 105 have been returned to their parents but one certain girl is still in the captive of this terrorist group.
The little girl named Liya Sheribu or her Christian name Leah has been held by Boko Haram for refusing to denounce Christianity and embrace Islam.
Toke is really amazed on how brave this girl is and as liken her to the three Hebrew men in the land of Babylon Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who refused to bow down for the graven image king Nebuchadnezzar had made.
She said; “If this is not bravery, I don’t know what to call it. This young lady Leah was one of the abducted Dapchi school girls, she refused to deny her faith and she was held back while the others have been released.
Heavenly Father, as she stood up unashamed for you, as she refused to denounce her faith in the face of the unknown, I pray that you too will defend her, cover her Lord, do as you did in the days of the 3 Jewish boys who refused to bow down to a foreign god and by her act of boldness change the hearts of her abductors, Jesus, save them. Forgive them, introduce yourself to them and let them find salvation Lord and lastly let this inspire everyone who is struggling with their faith, let this miracle open our eyes and hearts to you Lord. You have done it before, you will do it again. It shall end in praise”. She wrote.
This has got many Nigerian Christian talking as it was first revealed by Nigerian leaders that Boko Haram was not a religious terrorist group, well from this action what do they want us to believe.
