There is no denying that movie producer and director, late Chico Ejiro, more popularly known as Mr Prolific made a huge impact in Nollywood as could be gleaned from the tributes that poured in at his night of tribute and service of songs on Wednesday, February 17th at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Quite a number of his colleagues, friends and actors showed up to pay their last respects, despite the restriction due to the pandemic.
They all spoke glowingly about him. Tears flowed freely as each one spoke about how much he will be missed. Some of those registered their presence were Paul Obazele, Zik Zulu Okafor, Zeb Ejiro, his older brother, Richard Mofe Damijo, Kingsley Ogoro, Segun Arinze, Desmond Elliot, Sammie Okposo etc. Chico Ejiro who died at 2am on Christmas day is credited with discovering many film stars in today’s Nollywood film industry.
He was popular for his blockbuster movies in the 90s like ‘Silent Night,’ ‘Blood Money,’ ‘Deadly Affair,’ etc.
