A 20-year-old man, Usman Shehu, was reportedly murdered at the Kwanberu Area of Sokoto State.
The deceased was said to have sustained series of injuries on his body, the Sokoto State Police Command confirmed.
The police spokesman of the command, Mr El-Mustapha Sani, said that the remains have been conveyed to the Specialist Hospital, Sokoto, for an autopsy but would be released to the family after the body has been examined for investigation.
In his words, “The police will do everything humanly possible to unravel the mystery behind the murder of the orphan.”
Alhaji Ahmad Shehu, the Guardian of the decease said the family wass in a state of shock on hearing the brutal killing of their son.
He said, “All we want is justice and the fleeing killers of our son should be apprehended and brought to book.
”We will continue to pray fervently for the repose of his soul and for the Almighty Allah to expose the perpetrators.”
Usman Shehu was the son of a late prominent politician in Sokoto, Alhaji Shehu Bakauye.
