Four alleged suicide bombers have been confirmed dead while trying to attack an NNPC facility along Maiduguri-Damboa road in Borno state.
The Director Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, said in a release that the three of the four bombers were demobilized by shots fired at the check mounted by soldiers before the explosions in the area.
General Olukolade also confirmed that five soldiers were wounded while the civilian casualties were yet to be ascertained.
In the meantime, the collaboration between the Cameroon Security Forces and their Nigerian counterparts has resulted in the seizure of two hundred and eighty eight rifles and thirty five rocket-propelled guns as well as thirty five locally manufactured explosive devises at the border town Abugusse, close to the Chad.
Two suspects caught in connections with the weapons are believed to be major arms suppliers to the terrorists in Nigeria.
