Singer Davido settles for N30m compensation for Pinnick
Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, will pay the sum of N30 million to Brownhill Investment Company Limited for the breach of contract between the duo.
THISNIGERIA reported that the Brownhill Investment Company Limited owned by the immediate past President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, dragged the Nigerian singer to court over his failure to show up at a show he was paid to attend.
The company, through its lawyer, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, in suit EHC/183/2023, slammed Davido and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited, with a suit of N2 billion.
Consequent upon an extensive discussion and negotiations to have the matter resolved amicably, the parties have mutually agreed to perform at the “Warri Again Concert” edition on October 4, 2024.
In the consent judgment, parties further agreed that the sum of $94,500 which the claimant had already paid to the defendants, would be considered for the performance at the event.
As part of the consent judgment entered in a N2 billion suit filed against him, Davido also agreed to pay N30 million to the claimant, being a part contribution to the claimant’s outstanding legal fees in the suit within seven days of execution of the terms of the settlement.
