Popular Afrobeat Singer and son of legendary musician Femi Kuti has reacted to the statement made by the Noble Laureate, Wole Soyinka about tearing his green card if Donald Trump wins the election.
Recall that after the statement went viral on the internet, people were clamoring that he keeps to his words by tearing the card. But Soyinka in reaction shunned the people by telling them to mind their business.
‘Let me end with a Red Card to those noisome creatures, the nattering nit-wits of Internet: maybe Trumpland is not as despicable as the Naijaland you impose on our reality from your secure cesspits of anonymity. Go back to school. Your problem is ignorance, ignorance of whatever subject you so readily comment upon. Learn to study your subject before opening up on issues beyond your grasp,’ he blasted Nigerians.
In a recent interview with Femi Kuti, he was asked about his opinion of Soyinka tearing his green card and he said,“He should quickly tear it. My question is why does he have a green card in the first place?
“Africa is so beautiful, look at our landscape; there is so much to see in Africa.”
He wondered why some Nigerians took the US presidential election so personal and vital adding that the outcome has no effect on him or any average Nigeria.
