Saidi Balogun’s first daughter, Zeenat is dead

Tragedy struck in the household of Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun as his first daughter, Zeenat Balogun has been confirmed dead.

Zeenat was the first child from Saidi’s first marriage to Sherifat.

Zeenat’s death was made public on Saturday by Saidi through his Instagram account.

In his post, Saidi accompanied the image of a candlelight surrounded by flowers with heartbroken emojis.

A close source to the movie star revealed that he was in the middle of a stage performance at Terra Kulture on Friday when he received the devastating news of his daughter’s death.

Actress Faithia William, who is Saidi’s ex-wife and former stepmother of the late Zeenat, also shared her grief on Instagram.

She wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (from Allah we come, to Him we shall return).”

Saidi’s colleague Ronke Oshodi Oke paid tribute on Instagram by posting an image of a candle.

She captioned the post, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you @saidibalogun during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.”

Other notable actors including Kunle Afod, Yomi Fash-Lanso and Adeniyi Johnson have also extended their condolences.

At the time of this report, the cause of Zeenat’s death remained undisclosed.
