Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo is cooking up something very unique that has to do with mentoring.
The thespian who has got a lot of fans pressuring him to mentor them is set to have a mentorship program which he termed as “Richard Mofe Mentorship series”
He noted that it would be his earnest desire to see people being inspired with influenced and motivated by intellect, integrity and dignity.
Speaking about how he ended up becoming an actor he said that he had to convince his hardworking business mother who wanted him to end up as a doctor, lawyer or an engineer that he wanted to study theater art.
“Being the only child of a hardworking, dignified business woman put a lot of pressure, not only on me but on her as well.
She wanted me to succeed and have a distinguished professional title like “Lawyer”,
“Banker”, even “Lecturer” but having their child study to become an “Actor” in the 70’s was not something most parents wanted to hear, so imagine how difficult it was convincing “Mama Rich” to let me study Theatre Arts.
He stated that he was never motivated by money to join this profession, he had always had great men like Wole Soyinka’s, Ola Rotimi’s, Femi Osofisan’s, J.P Clark’s as his heroes.
