Politics in Nigeria, apart from its usual spilling of blood, as some politicians have now made it to be, has become very laughable. It is now common for some politicians in the country to make comments that could easily passed as comedy.
What is more worrisome is that some government officials, in trying to defend their principals, have joined in the ‘comic relief’.
Special Assistant to the President on New Media, Reno Omokri, who is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring President Goodluck Jonathan’s image on social media, has mocked the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omokri described the APC as a subsidiary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because the opposition has become like a dumping ground for aggrieved members of PDP.
“PDP is the highest shareholder in APC based on the number of ex PDP in charge of APC. APC is a subsidiary of PDP,” he wrote recently.
