Although, other children of the late Rev Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, founder of the Redeemed Church of God last week Tuesday made peace with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, their father’s successor, over allegations that the Akindayomi family was neglected, the story is still making the front burner in public discuss.
One of the grand children of the deceased cleric, Mr Abiodun Oluwakojo, had expressed satisfaction with the leadership of Pastor Adeboye, who had grown the church beyond imaginations since he took over as leader 30 years ago.
Oluwakojo had alleged that the family was dissatisfied with both the administration and leadership style of Pastor Adeboye who, he alleged, shut out the family from access to funds and decision regarding church administration.
Meanwhile, a direct daughter of late Akindayomi,Pastor Titi Adewale, who is the fourth in the line of five children, has said that Oluwakojo had no mandate to speak on behalf of the family, saying it was not the business of the family to interfere with the finances of the church.
Pastor Adewale said that, Pastor Adeboye is competent to direct the affairs of the church and that the Akindayomi family is satisfied with the leadership of both Pastor and Mrs. E.A Adeboye under whose shepherdship the church outlet has grown from 40 when Rev Akindayomi died 30 years ago to over 20,000 parishes across the world.
Regarding payments, Pastor Adewale said that the Akindayomi family has received substantial financial support from RCCG in the last 30 years with children and grand children and great grand children as beneficiaries, adding that the vision of late Rev.Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi has been adequately preserved and even taken further by Daddy G.O and whatever improvements that have been made by him have for the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ and we are satisfied with that.
