Yesterday, Sunday, December 7, 2014, the Big Brother Africa (BBA) Hotshots was concluded and a winner emerged, going home with the a whooping sum of $300,000.

The competition was won by Idris from Tanzania and Nigeria’s Tayo Faniyan finished as runner-up.

On its website, BBA, in an official statement, explained reasons Tayo lost the prize to Idris.

‘Idris is the winner! Africa has chosen. Idris charmed not only the women of the house, he charmed the entire continent of Africa. Idris is now USD300 000 richer. Both are winners, Tayo played an amazing game but Idris is the ultimate winner and there is much joyous celebration. A popular winner indeed. Take a bow Idris, Africa salutes you,’ the statement read.

The programme entered its 9th edition in 2014 and some of the contestants spent 63 days in the house.

Eight finalists emerged; Sipe, Nhlanhla, Mackey 2, JJ, Idris, Mam’bea, Butterphly and Tayo, and they were booted out in the following order: Butterphly and Mam’bea, JJ and Sipe, Nhlanhla and Macky2, leaving Idris and Tayo.© 2014Nigeriafilms.com
