Pretty singer, Eniola Akinbo, better known as Niyola, has asserted that it made no sense for people to express their love for their ‘baes’ on social media.
The ‘Toh Bad’ crooner while speaking on the fad of celebrating one’s lover on social media with endearing messages said it was better to appreciate each other privately and keep it private.
She told HipTv, “I would not post a picture of, for instance the pictures of a person I’m dating on Instagram and say ‘oh my love I feel this way about you’ because I would rather go and meet the person and say it to him. Why do you feel the need to share with the rest of the world for the person to know that you actually care.
“While it’s not necessarily a wrong thing, I wouldn’t do that and I don’t see the sense in it so the person would post a picture of you on your birthday but not even call you on your birthday and he would fight with the person who called you but didn’t post your picture because that has happened to me time and time again. I feel that reality is being twisted into stuff that isn’t even real. I fear for the generation that is coming behind us because what would they have to hold on to?”
The singer started her sojourn into music in 2000, when she emerged runner up at the Amen Starlet Competition.
