Protest: Yomi Fabiyi picks Sept 30 to demand justice for late Mohbad

Actor Yomi Fabiyi has called on the general public to join him in a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly to seek for justice for late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad.

The activist, in a post he shared on Instagram on Monday scheduled the protest on the day of resumption of the coroner’s inquest on Mohbad’s death, which is September 30.

According to the movie star, the essence of the protest is to force the police to provide the CCTV footage from the house of the deceased, which he said was key to the case.

He further said the demonstration would compel the Lagos State Government to intervene in Mohbad’s case.

He said, “It is imperative that we mount legitimate pressure and protest peacefully to the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 30th of September, 2024.

“Those who cut Mohbad’s life short are spending millions of naira to see that they cover up, create distractions and bury the many blatant evidence.

“We are so sure that the CCTV cameras in and outside Mohbad’s house were working, and they store remotely someone and not via DVR. The builder of the houses of similar patterns and Royal Pine Estate, Off Orchid Road, Lekki security, and CDA have answers to where these facts are stored.

“Why the Police did not wish to retrieve it can be very frustrating. We the masses do not want to put laws into our hands by going to ask for it, hence we need the true representative of the people of Lagos State to wade in and set up committee to summon, visit and bring the truth out.

“COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LETS SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September 2024. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending.”
