The 2015 elections is rather going to be an interesting one especially as the Nigerian entertainment industry has been able to produce few candidates that are aspiring for change in the country they are involved.
While some see these development as a welcome idea, some have seen it as uncalled for and have criticized it passionately. Some observers are of the belief that the 2015 elections will certainly be dramatic as it would be pragmatic.
There is an argument that some of the Entertainers are going into politics to enhance their fame and purse as it is being argued that some of these stars had been used in the past by politicians to promote their campaign programmes before elections; whereas some who were used to fulfill dreams of Politicians have now seen the light to take the mantle of leadership by the horns.
Analyst have aired their opinion that the idea is a welcome one as politics is an open affair but advised that the entertainers needs to be careful because the responsibility on them is high as they are seen as role model who have made a name through entertainment which is a favorable one for them in their campaign.
According to analysts, since the private sectors have refused to show their interest in the political affairs of the state, entertainers have actually taken the lead and are going there with some amount of fame and as such, they need to know that aside representing the people, they are representing the entertainment industry at large. We have seen the likes of Mofe-Damijo, Nkiru Silvanus e.t.c but the list below is the compilation of the latest entries.

Though Tony Tetuila is not a greenhorn in the industry but he is not a force to reckon with in Nigeria’s entertainment industry yet he is very optimistic that through his closeness to some political bigwigs in Kwara State he will be in Kwara State House of Assembly chambers in 2015 to represent people of Irepodun constituency in Kwara State.
The latest entrants into the game are the duo of Dayo Adeneye popularly known as D1 and Muma Gee. The list seem to be growing as it is very surprising because Nigerians were not expecting large entertainers to embrace politics this season.
There is no harm in trying a new career, besides; failure now does not mean forever, it could simply be a ladder for tomorrow’s victory. Let’s hope they bring the much needed change desired by the masses.
