Police free Portable on bail
The Lagos State Police Command has freed controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, after he met his bail conditions.
Portable was in the news on Tuesday over his alleged refusal to complete payment for his luxury car, the G-Wagon.
It was reported that the singer purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from a car dealer, Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos), but has refused to complete the payment since then.
Popular for his song, ‘Zazzu’, Portable reportedly paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, which was worth N27 million.
Since the purchase, it has been impossible for the car dealer to get her balance of N14 million.
She, however, reported to the police, who swung into action by forcefully enforcing his arrest after he tried to flee.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benajmin Hundeyin, confirmed the release of the singer on Wednesday evening.
When asked if Portable had sorted out the issues, the spokesman added, “I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he has been granted bail.”
