Just few hours to the most anticipated handover of government, and Nigeria Police force has banned all forms of jubilation, Transistor radio, handbags and parcel at Sani Abacha Stadium, the venue of swearing-in of Kano State governor-elect, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Addressing newsmen, the Kano State Police commissioner and chairman of the committee, Mr. Ibrahim K. Idris said any form of jubilation would not be tolerated during the ceremony.
“There will be serious restriction of movement into the venue and its vicinity. As such, public are advised to make use of public viewing centres sited in four different locations in the city,” he said.
He said 12 roads situated around the venue would be blocked and that there would be restriction of movement, saying the measure became necessary to forestall the breakdown of law and order.

“Except the executive governor’s and emir’s vehicles, no other dignitary, security agent and any other person is allowed to use siren while going to the venue on the occasion. There shall be no use of knockouts, fireworks or firecrackers during and after the celebration. We have taken this decision in view of intelligence gathered,” he said.
He urged the people of the state to in the interest of peace and hitch free celebration to cooperate with security agents.
