Nigerian musician Peter Okoye of the former group P-Square now identified with the stage name Mr. P has been dealt a heavy blow as he is accused of intellectual theft by singer Henry Knight.
Henry Knight is an upcoming act in the music industry and in August 2015 he released a song titled ‘Ebano’ and recently Mr. P released a new music with same title and copied the hook used by Henry.
Henry has called out Mr. P for this act as he said he was not contacted nor credited by him before using his content, issuing that the big artistes never help the upcoming but they tend to get away with ripping the up-comings apart.
In a lengthy post which he addressed this issue is not happy with Mr. P has he was not given credit as he even remind him of how Davido Davido credited Teni for “like that”.
He wrote;
“Every day in the Nigeria Music Industry, most of the biggest artistes who never for once help you even when you reach out to them in growing time of need for a collaboration or any other, tend to get away with ripping you off and making profit out of your property. Dear Peter Okoye @peterpsquare I released a song called Ebano on the 8th of August 2015 with hard earned Money which was produced by TeeMode, You copied the hook of the song without any form of royalty that is required or any form of credit to me.. We have seen other cases like when Davido credited Teni for “like that” it’s clearly true that You rise by lifting others. Henry knight is not all about this drama, I had to do this, because this is not the first time something like this is happening.” Henry Knight revealed.
Recall that yesterday the Danfo Drivers brothers called out singer Tekno Miles for copyright infringement after he remodeled their song “Kpolongo” without their consent.
