The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to deploy its technicians to polling units where there are reported cases of card reader malfunction.
Speaking to newsmen after his accreditation and voting, the APC candidate also urged the Commander of the Nigerian Army in Idanre town to call his men to order, alleging that he got reports that the officers are conniving with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig election in the area.
The senior advocate, who adorned a white flowing Agbada, arrived at his unit 6, CAC, Ijebu ward 05, polling booth at exactly 10:28am in the company of his wife amidst cheers from his kinsmen.
“In Ode Aye, our Minister of State had to put a call across to me that the card reader in his polling unit is not working.
“We have also heard complaints that soldiers are not doing well in Idanre and that they are cooperating with the PDP wanting to rig the election and we are calling on the Commanding Officer to take steps,” he said.
