The late singer and producer, OJB Jezreel’s third wife, has opened up on how she married the singer despite her family members’ objection to the marriage.
While speaking in an exclusive interview with PUNCH’s Sunday Scoop, late OJB Jezreel’s third wife, Korede Okungbowa, admitted that her family members did everything possible to stop her from getting married to the late singer and music producer.
According to Korede, despite her family members’ objection to the marriage, she said that she was extremely in love with OJB, who died two years ago.
She said, “My family objected to our marriage, saying I should wait for a single man. But I was already in love with him and there was nothing anyone could do to stop me. We dated for a year without the knowledge of anyone. I was ready to marry him regardless of anything.”
The CEO of Kokomi Catering Services and mother of two stated that OJB’s memory was still fresh to her.
She said, “I miss everything about him because he was a special human being. He cared for me every day and we spent a lot of time together while he was alive. I miss his calls whenever I needed to talk to someone.
“I was young when I married him. At a time, I had no relationship and he was there for me. He was a loving man and he loved me very much. I am a loving person; so, when I see love, I know it.
Korede and her two kids
“When you have someone that cares about you and falls in love with you, it will be hard to say no to him. I fell in love with Jigga (OJB’s nickname) as a man. I didn’t think about his wives or the children he already had. I just wanted to be where love was and it was with him. Everyone asked me not to marry him, including my mother and sister.”
She described her two children – a boy and a girl, as strong, saying, “They are aware that their father is dead and they are living with it.”
