Another body within the folds of Nollywood, Nollywood Stakeholders Forum (NSF) has asked the president-elect, General Mauhmmadu Buhari, to continue the legacy of his predecessor when he resumes office come May 29th.

Speaking on behalf of the body, the Coordinator of NSF, Harris Chuma, asked that the new government should help in sanitizing the industry because the industry contributes its quota to the economy development of the country.

Harris Chuma advised, “Nollywood cannot be said to occupy a strategic position in the Nigerian economic sphere without the continued presence of the government. We therefore call on the incoming administration to address the myriads of issues militating against our practice, guarantee the protection of intellectual property, support and empower Nollywood practitioners to enable them compete favourably in the committee of international movie practitioners.”

“While we celebrate your victory, permit us to insist that you should not neglect the potent nature of Nollywood as a veritable tool that can be deployed in promoting government policies,” he added.
