Udoka Oyeka
of Tinsel fame, also known for his award winning short film “Living Funeral” has released his highly anticipated short film “No Good Turn” centred on the Boko Haram crisis in Northern Nigeria.
The film stars Udoka Oyeka himself as well as Vocalist: Waje, Veteran: Nobert Young, Sani Mu’azu amongst others as they try to create awareness while depicting the humanitarian and terrorism crisis that residents face in the Northern part of Nigeria due to the Boko Haram insurgency.
Produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters, it tells the story of the immediate aftermath of a Boko Haram terrorist attack and is set in an overcrowded Emergency room of the town’s deteriorating hospital.
The Doctor, Dr Gbenga on duty has his hands full especially when one of the suspected terrorists is brought into the hospital. Dr. Gbenga must fight to keep everyone’s values in check, including his own.
The film has been selected and screened at the 2016 European Independent Film Festival, 2016 Cannes Film Festival in the short corner, the Durban International Film Festival and more.
These kind of welcoming initiatives and more have been bringing more recognition to the Nigerian movie industry and we are super proud.
