Remember the young talented artist who made a portrait of American singer, Ciara, on her visit to Nigeria, Alesh Akeem, he seems to have found his rhythm back as he has revealed plans of returning to school after about two years.
The 20 year lad made this known during the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Student’s Week Dinner which was recently concluded at the school compound.
Better called Alesh by his friends, has shown so much creativity with the use of pencil to create the portrait of anybody he wants to and that has gradually earned him the recognition he deserves as the day goes by.
The artist who recently lost his father earlier in the year stated that he feels it is time for him to return to his academic again after having some challenges which led to him deferring his admission.
In his words, “although I had to leave then due to some challenges but you know God is forever faithful and NIJ is my home, so I have plans of coming back to complete my programme and I’m sure God will see me through.”
Bringing his exploits in creative art into the school, Alesh made a surprise presentation of his latest work which is a portrait of the provost of the institution and according to him, it was a way of appreciating his exceptional leadership in the institution.
Deputy Provost of the Institute Mr. Jide Johnson, while receiving the portrait on behalf of the Provost, said, it gives me great joy to see students of this great institution making exploits even beyond the shores of this country, and the Provost of this institute is also an exceptional leader who is never intimidated by anyone’s success, rather he will always support you. I urge our students to keep up the good work and we will always support them.”
