British-Nigerian singer, ex-model cum actress, Patti Boulaye has expressed disappointment over the negative image Nigerians portray abroad.
She said that Nigerians think they know everything but it is unfortunate that they lack reputation management.
The ex-model said that Nigeria as a country has a very bad positive image representation abroad. She said regrettably that when Presidents of countries visit the United Kingdom, it is always celebrated but it was unfortunate that when President Mohammadu Buhari came, he just stood in front of No. 10, Downing Street, like one who was waiting to take a taxi.
“I must admit that our reputation is bad. Even when President Muhammadu Buhari came to London, I felt so sorry for him because that man is carrying and wearing Nigeria on his frame.
Boulaye who has an academy that teaches etiquette said severally she has been advised by foreign journalists to act less like a Nigerian but she did not comply.
According to her, even though she resides abroad, she feels so much like a Nigerian and if she drops the ‘Nigerianess’ what else would be left for her.
