Lagos-based Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Marshall better known as K1 the Ultimate, has been thrown into mourning after losing his father to the cold hands of death.
Late Mefu of Igan, Otunba Samson Aremu Rufai was a prominent community leader in Ago-Iwoye.
He reportedly passed away at the age of 84 years.
According to reports, Otunba Rufai died in the early hours of Wednesday, 26th January 2022, after battling briefly an undisclosed illness.
He was the Mefu of Igan Quarter, one of the eight Quarters in Ago-Iwoye and reigned for 43 years.
It should be noted that Otunba Samson Rufai assumed the position of Mefu of Igan Quarter in 1979 and during his time recorded many gigantic developments.
He was survived by many children, including Otunba Sesan Rufai, the Chief Executive Officer of Goldmyne TV and Limelite Hotels.
Also, Nigerian business magnate Ben Murray-Bruce is mourning the loss of his aged mother, disclosing that she died on Tuesday morning.
Speaking via his official Twitter handle, the Silverbird founder compared life to sand in the wind while revealing that his mum passed on around 4.40 am.
Calling her his “jewel of inestimable value”, Murray-Bruce said his late parent was his best friend and that his consolation is that he gave her his presence, time, and his everything.
“Life, Indeed like sand in the wind. Today, it’s here, tomorrow, it’s gone”, he wrote. “My mum is gone. She died at 4.40 am this morning.
“My gem of inestimable value, my support system, my best friend, my everything – she’s gone.
“My consolation is that in her lifetime, I gave her not just everything that money could buy, but most importantly, I gave her my presence, my time, my everything.
“On uncountable occasions, I will go to her house and hug her and play with her for no reason but love, the kind that only sons share with their mums.
“I love you mum, and I miss you. This one hurts so bad. Forever yours.”
