The football legend has been living on a low key away from the piercing eyes of the public while also staying away from controversies.
But what many do not know is the fact that the ex-footballer and former assistant coach of Nigeria’s National team, recently lost his father and is currently grieving.
Although his dad passed on last weekend, but he made the announcement on his social media account earlier today.
With his grieving hear he penned down an emotional piece about his father.
In his words: “My dear father passed away last weekend reaching almost the age of 100 years. Our family is naturally very saddened and heart-broken by the news, but when somebody becomes nearly a century old then this is something to be expected. A normal cycle of life, the memories remain close to my heart and my father’s legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren. May his soul rest in peace and I would like to take this occasion to thank you all for the messages of condolence and words of comfort that you have sent me through different channels”
