Nigerian Eagle airline this morning unveiled its new aircraft to journalists at the presidential lounge of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
The ceremony was performed by the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Dapo Olumide.
The aircraft with registration number 5N-VHF was billed to commence operations soon, with the unveiling ceremony.
A new technical partnership has been forged between the national carrier and Ethiopian Airline after the national carrier’s name was changed from Virgin Nigeria to Nigerian Eagle.
The new name and logo of the airline was unveiled to journalists in Lagos.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Airline, Captain Dapo Olumide, told journalists yesterday that the new name and logo form a way of branding the airline and making it a premium service airline in the country.
The logo of the airline has the shape of an eagle with five colours – inner green, representing the aircraft, red representing the passion of the airline, black representing the strength and yellow standing for the airline as a nimble one and the green representing the growth of the airline.
Captain Olumide explained that it entered into technical partnership with Ethiopian Airline, because the airline is one of the best in the world.
While the Nigeria Eagles Airline has seven aircraft, Ethiopian Airline has 34 aircraft and last year, it was able to make triple the profits of Virgin Atlantic Airline of London.
He said the airline is now stronger and will focus only on domestic and regional flights.
