My postpartum struggles –Maria Chike
A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Maria Chike, has disclosed how postpartum depression affected her after the birth of her baby.
According to the reality TV star on her podcast, ‘Mums Next Door’, she struggled with a mental health condition that affect many new mothers during the time.
The celebrity narrated how she stopped everyone around her from carrying or taking care of her baby, stressing that she became intensely protective.
Her family and loved ones grew concerned as she became increasingly irritable and withdrawn, she added.
Her words, “I didn’t let anyone carry my baby, and at some point, I was irritating everyone. My family thought I was mentally not okay.”
