My parents were expecting a boy-child on the day of my delivery – Actress Bukunmi Oluwasina
As Nollywood actress, Bukunmi Oluwasina, celebrates her 34th birth anniversary, she narrated how her parents were disappointed that she was not a boy on the of her delivery.
The thespian said her parents had been informed that her mother was carrying a boy-child and they had prepared for that.
She noted that they were, however, shocked at the arrival of a girl-child after her father had planned several activities to welcome his first male child.
Furthermore, Oluwasina said her parents went to the hospital with a bag filled with baby items and male clothes.
She wrote, “So, on this day, many years ago, around this time, history has it that my mum was already in labour. On her way to the hospital, with a bag filled with baby items and clothes she had bought for her incoming baby boy, as she had been told.
“My dad was already making plans on how to arrange for the cow he would kill for naming. Man couldn’t wait to meet his first son.
“Ladīes and gentlemen, I have been a joke from day one. O shock won bakan.
“Feel free to say, na for inside belle I don dey live my private life. Yeah, it’s a few hours to my day. Dad, I know you won’t be calling again tonight as usual. I would have loved to, however, just be saying amen to your past prayers from you, for my past birthdays in my head, But all you have prayed for, for me then are already answered.
“So, all I have got to say now, is thank you Lord for all that you have done that I know and the ones I do not”.
