Mohbad: Primeboy drags police to court
Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy, childhood friend to the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad has dragged the Nigeria Police Force declaring him wanted.
Arguing that his fundamental human rights were violated, Primeboy approached the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on October 11, 2024.
Recall that Primeboy was declared wanted on October 4, 2023, over his alleged failure to honour the invitation of the Lagos State Police Command with respect to the investigations into the death of Mohbad.
Following the declaration, Primeboy surrendered himself to the police the following day.
However, in a statement recently issued by his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Primeboy is seeking a court order to have the police remove his name from the wanted list, noting that the special police bulletin declaring him wanted “violates his right to dignity and respect as a human being.”
Ogunbona explained, “Primeboy has sued the police via an originating motion filed on October 11 before the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.
“His prayers to the court include a declaration that the special police gazette bulletin issued by the office of the IGP declaring Primeboy wanted was a contravention of Primeboy’s right to respect for the dignity of his human person.
“Also, Primeboy prayed the court to delist his name from the wanted list amongst other prayers.”
This comes a few days after Primeboy threatened a lawsuit against Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba for defamation.
