Barely a month the Super Eagles Star player and former Chelsea player, John Mikel Obi joined Chinese club Tianjin TEDA , he has been made the captain of the super league.

Mikel has been given the number 10 Jersey and captain band at his new club being managed by Jaime Pacheco.

I think his move to China is really paying off. Recall that Mikel said it was not easy for him to go to China but he did it not for the money but for the interest of Nigeria.

“I could easily have stayed in Chelsea for the remaining six months of my contract but it won’t be in the best interest of my nation, as they need me match fit when the World Cup 2018 qualifiers resume”.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to make but I seriously need matches to stay fit for Nigeria,” he said.

 Nigerians don’t deserve to miss out of the World Cup after back to back failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations”.

The club is gradually attracting world media attention which is one of their strategic aim.
