The Nigerian Soccer Team, who recently made the country proud by winning the Bronze Medal at the 2016 Olympics, despite the challenges they went through before and during the competition, have thanked Nigerians for their support.
Captain of the Dream Team, Mikel Obi, made this known recently after receiving his Bronze medal as he noted that it was not easy but the support of Nigerians saw them through.
Returning back to the premier league, the player explained that leading the Under 23 team to the Olympic and winning a medal with the name of his country is the reason why he is a footballer.
In his words, “To lead this team to an Olympic medal, and make Nigerians proud – this is why I play football. Thank you to all the players, staff and fans for making this dream come true now back to Premier League. A massive thank you to all the fans for their support and a special thank you to all the U23.”
