Injury has ruled out one of Nigeria’s promising midfielders from participating in the forthcoming match against Algeria.
Turkey-based midfielder, Mikel Agu has joined the stretching list of injured players for Nigeria ahead of the final round of 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Algeria this weekend.
The 24-year-old who was substituted 45 minutes into Bursaspor’s 2-2 draw with Kasimpasa faces a race to be fit in time for the Super Eagles’ matches against Algeria and Argentina on November 10 and 14 respectively.
The player was substituted because he was still nursing an injury. The news of Mikel’s injury adds to a major headache for Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr.
Victor Moses, Elderson Echiejile, Odion Ighalo and Moses Simon have all pulled out due to injuries.
Defender Leon Balogun is also reportedly short of match fitness.
