Bosede Arowosegbe is a budding actress who has been in the industry for some time now. In this interview with TOPE OLUKOLE, she speaks about her career, journey into the industry and her future plans. Excerpts:
Tell us about yourself?
I am Bosede Arowosegbe. I’m an actress, from Arigidi Akoko in Ondo State. I attended Ikeja Primary School and had my secondary school education in Delta and Ondo States. I also hold a Diploma Certificate in Ticketing Reservation.
How did you venture into acting?
I came into the movie industry through Sade Omoniyi, a.k.a Lepa Shandy, she is my mentor. She taught me the rudiments of the job and featured me in one of her films entitled: ‘Akamo’. But, I’ve since featured in other movies.
Have you produced any movie?
I’ve produced my own movie entitled: ‘Karenibarin’. People really commended me for the movie.
The commendation motivated me into producing another one entitled Anikisaya.
How would you react to the debt scandal that rocked your first movie, Karenibarin, because we heard that you didn’t pay back the loan you took to shoot the film?
That’s not true. It’s true I got a loan to shoot the movie, but I’ve paid the loan. The person, through which I paid the money, was the one that didn’t deliver it. But, everything has been settled now.
Did you also borrow money to shoot this new movie?
No, I used my money to shoot my new movie.
The first movie you featured in, how much were you paid?
I was not paid a dime, because it was meant to test my ability.
How did you meet Lepa Shandy?
I met her at the National Theatre, Iganmu, many years ago. She is a sister to one of my friends.
What is your new movie all about?
It’s a true life story of a lady called Nike, she is busty and pretty. She believes she can get any man with her boobs and physique; she doesn’t believe in God, but rather believes in men.
Who are the top actors that featured in it?
They are Jibola Dabo, Kemi Afolabi, Biodun Okeowo, Bose Arowosegbe, Muyideen Oladapo, Biola Adebayo and many others.
Which other role models do you have apart from Lepa Shandy?
They are Sikirat Sindodo, Funso Adeolu, Biodun Okeowo, Mike Ezuruonye and Uche Jombo.
How close are you to Sikirat Sindodo because we learnt you were her Personal Assistant?
She is my close friend, I’m not her Personal Assistant.
Which role did you play during her ailment?
I played the role of a good friend; I stood by her because a friend in need is a friend indeed. I thank God, she is okay now.
Did she feature in your new movie?
Yes, she featured in it.
Has she started partying or going to events?
No.
What’s your marital status?
I’m still single.
Are you in love?
Yes, I’m in love, but my fiancé is based abroad.
As a single lady, what does sex mean to you?
It’s an emotional activity that occurs between a man and a woman who are in love.
When did you have your first kiss?
I had my first kiss with my first lover and it was a sweet memory.
Are you still in contact with your first love?
Yes, he is my fiancé and like I said, he is based in America.
What are your hobbies?
Listening to music is my hobby.
What is your unique selling point?
My boobs are my unique selling point.
