May Edochie should have reached out to me to apologise for her fans’ attitude – Uche Ogbodo
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo on Saturday said May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie should have reached out to tender an apology over the “toxic” behaviour of some of her fans towards her.
Ogbodo lamented that she had been bullied online by fans of May and she didn’t address the issue, which made her believe she (May) enjoyed the toxicity of her fans.
The movie star further said she won’t allow herself to be bullied by online trolls, adding that she will do whatever is necessary to protect her peace of mind.
She said, “My life is public, so when things happen, there’s no danger in letting the public know. I almost had a stroke when my shop was burgled, and yet some people said I was lying. Some, who call themselves May Edochie’s fans, made negative comments, with no sympathy or sense that what happened to me was bad.
“Fans keep insulting me on May’s page. If I like her picture, they insult me. If Judy, Yul’s second wife posts and I like it, they insult me. I won’t allow anyone to intimidate me on social media.
“She didn’t even bother to reach out to me, but that’s fine. That is why I said she enjoys the toxicity. There’s no way I, Uche Ogbodo, would post something on my page, and if a friend or colleague comments, I would let an outsider insult them.”
Explaining why she blocked Edochie on Instagram, Ogbodo said, “Since her followers don’t want me to associate with her and she isn’t helping, I blocked her. If I see her in real life, I’ll still greet her, and we’re still good. Social media is not real life, and her followers, who formed this dark circle around her, don’t know me. I won’t let them project their evil energy on me. There’s no personal agenda. I’m still following her, but now it’s quiet, so they don’t see it and insult me on social media.”
