Ajekunle is known to be a ghetto, but with time the environment seems to have been better as people of substance has emerged from that environment.
But shockingly, a man is bringing people’s imagination back to how dreadful that environment use to be, when he intentionally poisoned a pot of soup belonging to his neighbor.
It was said that the accused and victim had a previous misunderstanding over unpaid electricity supply, and for vengeance he wanted to wipe out his neighbor’s family.
Narrating what happened, the victim, Mrs Saidat Shakiru disclosed that left the soup on fire, to attend to another issue, only to return and discover that the soup reeked of sniper. She then accused Daniel, who was the only resident of the compound at home when she was cooking.
Meanwhile, the accused Daniel, who blamed his actions on the devil, said “Shakiru has been insulting him over electricity bill.
In his words: “I don’t know what got over me so I decided to put sniper inside their soup to punish her. I am sorry. I regret what I have done. She insulted me so much because of the electricity bill, if not I don’t have any problem with her and her husband.”
The accused is so said to be in the custody of police in that vicinity, and would be transferred soon to Panti, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID).
