A 26-year-old unemployed man, Kingsley Egwu, was on Friday arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
The accused who lives at No 24 Joseph Dosu Way, Badagry was found in possession of fake currency.
The prosecutor said he was apprehended with three fake one thousand Naira notes at Calipso Hotel in Ibereko, Badagry where he was trying to pay for a room.
“He put the fake notes in the middle of other genuine notes thinking that no one would notice it.The receptionist detected it and the police were notified immediately.”
The offense contravened Section 324 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Abiodun Etti, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum and adjourned the case to Oct. 7 for further hearing.
