In its effort to take dance to a higher level, Malta Guinness has embarked on various aggressive strategies to project the dance culture of the Nigerian youths and encourage them to ‘dance to top of the world’ by partnering with the Silverbird Cinemas in premiering the newly released dance drama movie, How She Move.
How She Move is a dance/drama movie which features a gifted student, Raya Green, who danced her way to glory when she was forced to leave her prestigious private school and return to her old neighbourhood when her parents can no longer afford her tuition following the tragic death of her sister.
It would be recalled that the brand recently launched the ‘Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa’ initiative; a dance competition aimed at finding Africa’s best street dance talents and also affords the best street dancers the opportunity to dance to the top of world, while also showcasing Africa’s unique dance steps and styles.
This initiative, which was well applauded by Nigerians saw the brand take street dance to different regions of the country where winners emerged to do battle in a national championship where ‘Soul Quest’, winners from the Abuja region triumphed over four other dance crews to represent Nigeria at the Pan – African finals, which was eventually won by Ghana.
The movie narrates how Raya Green rose above all obstacles and setbacks to win the most prestigious dance competition in the neighbourhood. While speaking during the event at the Silverbird Galleria, Brand Manager, Malta Guinness, Innocent Oboh reiterated the brand’s commitment to give Nigerian youths the opportunity to discover their talents through showcasing their dance steps and dancing their ways to top of the world.

The atmosphere which was pervaded with euphoria and kudos for the resolute Raya, who despite the rough and unfriendly indifference she encountered, remained determined and forged ahead to become the darling of all and sundry, through sheer gut, was a spectacle to behold as the viewers were all elated.
